The Greater Hudson Valley Family
Health Center Inc. Welcomes You

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the newly
reconstructed web site of The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health
Center, Inc. I hope that you will find the information regarding our
Family Health Center, its staff, services, and future goals to be
useful. During the next several months we will be working to improve
the web site and provide additional information to you and your family
about our “family” of dedicated health care providers and staff, and the
current and new programs that we will be offering.
Almost 40 years
ago, four VISTA volunteers came to the Newburgh area in response to a
need that they saw to help provide basic health care to the many migrant
workers and their families in the area. The organization they created
has become The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center Inc. Our mission
is to provide high quality, comprehensive, primary and preventative
health care services in an environment of caring, respect, and dignity.
From our humble beginnings, our Center now provides more than 13,000
adults and children in our region with their comprehensive health care.
Last year, we provided more than 62,000 primary and preventative patient visits.
I hope that you
will be able to use our newly designed web site to find information
about the services we offer, our locations and schedule of hours, our
highly credentialed and respected medical staff, and our plans for
future growth.
Running along
the top of the home page of our web site are the words that form one of
my core beliefs: “Health care is a right and not a privilege.” I have
dedicated the last 14 years of my career as President and Chief
Executive Officer of the Family Health Center to insuring that our
Center make this belief the basis of its mission.
As you browse
our site you will learn more as well about our plans for the future.
We hope, within the next three years, to have completed the
construction of a completely new state-of-the-art medical services
facility at a new location on Lake St. in Newburgh. This is an
ambitious plan that will challenge us professionally, and will require
the financial support and assistance of business, government, labor, and
the citizens of Newburgh and the Greater Hudson Valley. But with your
assistance, we can achieve this goal, and provide all those who seek our
assistance the opportunity to receive their primary health care in a
facility that our entire community can be proud of.
Please wander
through our site. Don’t overlook the “contact us” button located on
every page. I welcome your thoughts, questions, requests for
assistance, and hopefully, your words of encouragement as well. And if
you are interested in a career in the health care field, pay special
attention to our employment opportunities, found on the "Employment"
page.
I am most proud
of every one of the women and men who work at The Greater Hudson Valley
Family Health Center, Inc., who have dedicated their lives to improving
the health of those whose medical needs are often most overlooked.
Together, our medical, professional and support staff, with your help
and support will improve the health of our community one patient at a
time.
Yours in good health,
Linda S. Muller President and Chief Executive Officer
