| Forty-six years ago, four VISTA volunteers came to the Newburgh area in response to a need that they saw to help provide basic health care to the many migrant workers and their families in the area. The organization they created has become The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center. From our humble beginnings, our Center now provides more than 19,000 adults and children in our region with their comprehensive health care. Last year, we provided primary and preventative health care services totaling more than 175,000 patient visits. Our staff of more than 300 employees includes 15 Board Certified/Board Eligible Physicians, and Dentists, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, a large nursing staff, blood specialists and laboratory professionals, and social work and counseling staff. A large number of our employees are bilingual in Spanish, and the Family Health Center makes every effort to provide health care services through translation in several other languages as well.
